Crickets as Livefood
At LivefoodsForGood.co.uk we offer two types of cricket, Black Field Crickets (Gryllus bimaculatus) and Silent Brown Crickets (Acheta domestica).
Crickets make up the bulk of orders, and are a good all-round food
source for many pet reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.
On the advise of a leading breeder, we do not recommend crickets for praying mantis, for details please see the link below.

Black Field Crickets
The larger and tougher of the two, black field crickets are more suited to larger lizards.
Black field crickets do not seem to store as well as brown crickets, so
it is recommended you only buy what you need for a week or so.
Silent Brown Crickets
Silent brown crickets are smaller and faster, and therefore suited to smaller lizards, amphibians and invertebrates.
Although generally silent, brown crickets have been known to make some noise, but nothing like that made by field crickets.
Feeding Crickets
Please refer to gutloading section.
Heating and Humidity
Room temperature is adequate, though
higher temperatures (up to 90'F) will be beneficial if keeping the
crickets for extended periods.
Crickets should be kept dry but with a water source. Bug gel can be
used, or a shallow dish containing water and a few stones (crickets
drown easily and need the stones to get out).
